Warranty
Three warranties, kept apart
They come from different people and cover different things. Hail is not covered by any of them.
The maker’s material warranty
From the shingle maker. It covers manufacturing defects, with the terms, tiers and limits set out in the maker’s paperwork. It does not cover hail.
A system warranty, where offered
Some makers offer a broader warranty when the roof is installed as a system. If we offer one, the estimate names the tier and what it requires.
Our workmanship warranty
Ours. Its length, what it covers and what it leaves out are written into your contract. Ask to read it before you sign.

About warranties
Does the shingle warranty cover hail?
No. Shingle makers warrant against manufacturing defects. Hail is what your homeowner’s policy is for.
What does “lifetime” mean on a shingle warranty?
Read whose lifetime it means and what it covers. Often it is the original owner’s, for manufacturing defects only, and reduced over time. The maker’s terms say exactly.
Who registers the warranty?
Where a maker’s warranty needs registering, we say who does it before you sign.
